29. January 2024 · Comments Off on Nick Brown for Attorney General – January 29, 2024 · Categories: Uncategorized

There’s so much on the line in 2024, including unprecedented threats to our democratic values from extremist politicians and judges who are determined to take our country backward. Will you donate today to help protect Washingtonians from these threats by electing Nick?

These constant attacks on our liberties and freedoms mean that the job of the Attorney General is even more critical, especially in a state like Washington, where we’ve worked hard to lead the nation in protecting our democratic values.

Together, we can elect Nick, a proven leader and public servant who will continue to uphold and protect the rights of all Washingtonians. Nick’s taken on extremists before and won. He is the candidate you can trust to protect your rights from any anti-democratic attacks coming from far-right leaders.

If you’re with Nick in this fight, we need your help today to ensure we can grow this campaign and have the resources to win in November. We have our first end-of-month deadline this year in just a few days, and we could use your help today to ensure we hit our goal.

Will you chip in $10, $25, or even $39 to help us elect Nick, a proven leader who will fight to protect our democratic values?

Thanks so much for taking the time to support Nick today!

How it went

Running for the 16th LD state legislature turned out to be the most enriching experience! I am so glad I allowed myself this opportunity. The emotional ups and downs came from the high of people like you believing in me to the lows of being the target of peoples’ anger and hatred for being a Democrat. I can only describe these people as beginning everyday in misery. This breaks my heart. How did we get to this point with neighbors, friends and strangers?

We all worked hard. I was so elevated with the coordinated work of the Walla Walla County Democrats and the state Democratic party. We pooled our efforts, and reached more voters than ever! That raises the question then as to what went wrong. I was optimistic that at least one seat in Olympia was possible, as well as one or more of our county candidates.

I spoke with some strong Democratic voters who shared with me they voted for the incumbents because of name recognition. It’s clear we need better communication platforms. Sitting next to Skyler during forums was especially hard because I had to listen to him play to the public with statements not supported by his voting record. We have a responsibility to pay attention to what our elected officials are doing and how they are voting when in session. We cannot naively rely on their email newletters and one-sided communications. It has become too common for dishonesty and lack of authenticity to be the way of politics.

How it’s going

It has been frustrating to watch in slow motion the ineptitude of our county auditor. We still have 41% of ballots not counted. The Union Bulletin all but called all the races the day after election for Republicans with only a small percentage of ballots being counted.

______________________________________________________________

What’s next

We’re rested now with more resolve than ever to continue the work. We understand that it is going to take year round efforts. We’re preparing for reorganization in the 16th LDFranklin CountyBenton County and Walla Walla County. We have strong people stepping up for leadership roles. We need all good Democrats to volunteer, attend meetings, and donate. Please join us!

Your support has been truly humbling. Thank you! I will continue to work for all of us in eastern Washington.

Best!, Jan

Hi all,

Happy ballot drop week! As the campaign closes in on the final stretch we have several exciting events and updates to share.

For those of you in the Greater Seattle area, we are excited to announce Sen. Elizabeth Warren is coming to town this weekend. Senator Murray will host a large campaign rally with her and other elected leaders this Friday evening at 5pm at the Seattle Center Mural Amphitheater. You can sign up to join us HERE, and share the Facebook event for the rally HERE. Then on Saturday, Sens. Murray and Warren will lead a canvass kickoff in South Seattle. You can sign up to join us knocking doors HERE.

Senator Murray will close out this busy weekend with her debate against Tiffany Smiley in Spokane Sunday night. Folks on the east side of the state are invited to join us for a day of activity around the debate. We’ll have a canvass kick off in the morning and important visibility support ahead of the debate Sunday afternoon. Sign up for both events HERE. For folks who will be watching from other corners of the state, we’d love your support on social media rapid response. Sign up HERE if you’d like to be involved.

These high profile events are part of our ongoing Patty for WA GOTV and town hall tour that we kicked off last week. Over the weekend, Sen. Murray was in 5 different counties headlining canvass launches and she also held town halls with reproductive rights advocates and small business owners last week. We have a great campaign side town hall coming up tomorrow in Seattle, focused on families and the care economy. We’d love to have more folks join us so feel free to share with your networks and sign up HERE.

In case it’s helpful, sharing some suggested draft Facebook and Instagram posts and tweets HERE that you’re free to use and repurpose when talking about Senator Murray’s race this week.

As always, please let me know if there are any questions or if you need anything further from the campaign!

Best,

Thank you to everyone who has already made a one time or recurring donation. We are here because of YOU! We just need a few more folks pitching in to close the gap.
