Hi all,

Hope folks had a great holiday weekend!

You may have seen that both Senator Murray and Tiffany Smiley were on CNN’s State of the Union this past Sunday, and the choice for Washington state voters couldn’t be more clear. Senator Murray talked about her focus on Washington state voters in this race, the importance of protecting the right to abortion, and the current threats to democracy

Meanwhile, Tiffany Smiley wouldn’t admit that President Biden was elected fairly, even after she was asked directly three times. Headlines about Tiffany Smiley’s attempts to hide her extreme views from Washington voters continue to pile up:

  • Axios:“GOP Senate candidate scrubs website of 2020 election doubts”
  • HuffPo: “GOP Senate Candidate Scrubs Election ‘Integrity’ Section From Website”
  • Daily Beast: “‘Moderate’ GOP Senate Candidate Tiffany Smiley Won’t Say Biden Was ‘Legitimately’ Elected”

This week, Senator Murray is back in the other Washington for votes and session work after wrapping up a busy month of travel all across Washington state. On the campaign side, we’re hosting a press conference this Thursday with Planned Parenthood Action Fund President Alexis McGill Johnson to highlight Smiley’s extreme anti-abortion views that are out of step with Washingtonians (recent tweet from Alexis on this here). And of course—we’re focused on building our ground game that will help us win in November. On that front, please continue to drive folks to sign up for shifts through the WA Dems

In case it’s helpful, sharing some suggested draft Facebook and Instagram posts and tweets here that you’re free to use and repurpose when talking about Senator Murray’s race this week. We’re also helping organize Op-Eds and Letters to the Editor regarding the race—please reach out if you or someone on your team is interested.

As always, let me know if there are any questions or if you need anything further from the campaign.
