Being the change – Siendo el cambio
This week has clarified in my mind the need for equitable and just representation in politics. First, the leak from the Supreme Court demonstrated how some citizens of our great country are not protected enough; and the protections that do exist can be removed to serve the agenda of a minority. Then, Thursday I was honored to join the MMIWG March in Toppenish, where I witnessed firsthand the damage that is done when the voices of those who need representation are ignored. Women have been raising the call and fighting for their rights for far too long without the support and representation of those in power. When we protect the rights, dignity, and bodily autonomy of those who are vulnerable, we protect all of society. We can and must serve our communities better.
Esta semana ha aclarado en mi mente la necesidad de una representación equitativa y justa en la política. Primero, las noticias de la Corte Suprema demostraron cómo algunos ciudadanos de nuestro gran país no están suficientemente protegidos; y las protecciones que existen pueden eliminarse para servir a la agenda de una minoría. Luego, el jueves tuve el honor de unirme a la Marcha del MMIWG en Toppenish, donde fui testigo de primera mano del daño que se produce cuando se ignoran las voces de quienes necesitan representación. Las mujeres han estado alzando la voz y luchando por sus derechos durante demasiado tiempo sin el apoyo y la representación de quienes están en el poder. Cuando protegemos los derechos, la dignidad y la autonomía corporal de quienes son vulnerables, protegemos a toda la sociedad. Podemos y debemos servir mejor a nuestras comunidades.

I have been invited to participate by the Republican Liberty Caucus of Washington. I will take the stage with 5 other republican challengers. To the best of my knowledge. I will be the only challenger with a platform and a plan for Central Washington. I will work to achieve drought resiliency, immigration that works and is humane, rebuild our infrastructure and address climate change. For too long we have let politicians accomplish nothing because their only skill was to say “NO”, “We won’t do It” and “I will stop any attempt to change.” These are not the tactics of leaders, they are the antics of 4 year olds. The time is long overdue to elect a representative with a plan, the determination and the skills to create a better Congressional District 4.
He sido invitado a participar por el Republican Liberty Caucus de Washington. Subiré al escenario con otros 5 retadores republicanos. Según entiendo. Seré el único retador con una plataforma y un plan para el centro de Washington. Trabajaré para lograr la resiliencia a la sequía, una inmigración que funcione y sea humana, reconstruiré nuestra infraestructura y abordaré el cambio climático. Durante demasiado tiempo hemos dejado que los políticos no logren nada porque su única habilidad era decir “NO”, “No lo haremos” y “Detendré cualquier intento de cambio”. Estas no son las tácticas de los líderes, son las payasadas de los niños de 4 años. Ha llegado el momento de elegir un representante con un plan, la determinación y las habilidades para crear un mejor Distrito 4 del Congreso.
