The Benton County Democrats, and your elected Executive Board, would like to congratulate all of our amazing candidates for their hard work and dedication to promoting our shared values.

Running for office is one of the most challenging things we can do as citizens, and one of the most important as well.

Without candidates who stand up to be counted when our values are under threat, we would drown in pessimism and cynicism. Our candidates give us a shining light to follow, regardless of outcome, and we are grateful for their leadership.

For those candidates that didn’t do as well as they, (and we), had hoped, take heart in knowing that you have moved the ball forward, and that you have made a stand for what you, and we, believe in. Shouting into the darkness, “This far and no further!”

For those of you who have helped our amazing candidates, we also extend a heartfelt “thank you!”.

The success of a candidate or issue is most often determined by the hearts and efforts of their volunteers, as much, (if not more so), than the candidates themselves. You are amazing!

In that vein, we cannot reach success without an even greater effort over the next few months.

Make no mistake that Trumps GOP has noticed our success and are worried. They will throw everything they have at defeating our communities shared values for their own gain. It is up to all of us to ensure that our candidates, issues, and values win the day.

What have you done to make sure we win in November? What are you doing? What are you willing to do?

Our candidates need money for signs, advertising, and events. They need volunteers for sign placements, doorbelling, and phone-banking. And, most of all, they need your votes, and your advocacy.

Please help us and our candidates win in November. You are the only one that can!
