Hurricane Helene has left a devastating impact on North Carolina and every state in its path. Entire neighborhoods have been flooded, homes destroyed, and families displaced. Roads and critical infrastructure have been washed away, and the toll of this disaster is being felt across every corner of the state.
My good friend Anderson Clayton – Chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party – and her team are working around the clock, not just to rebuild their communities, but also to ensure that every North Carolinian can still cast their ballot this November.
This is no small task. In the wake of such immense devastation, the obstacles to making sure every voice is heard in the upcoming election have multiplied.
But in times like this, we know what matters: people coming together to lift each other up, to lend a helping hand when it’s needed most. It’s what we stand for as Democrats and as human beings.
