Dear friend,

On Monday morning, October 28th, we learned of an attempt to disenfranchise Washington state voters through the destruction of ballots at a Vancouver, WA ballot dropbox.

This incident occurred at the Fisher’s Landing dropbox in Vancouver, WA, and affects ballots submitted after 11 AM on Saturday, October 26.

If you dropped your ballot at this location after that time, we urge you to check the status of your ballot at VoteWA.gov or by contacting the Clark County Auditor’s office directly at 564-397-2345

Should your ballot appear to have been affected, you are encouraged to request a replacement ballot to ensure your vote is counted.

We trust law enforcement and the Clark County Auditor to take all necessary actions to identify and hold accountable those responsible for this incident.

Any Washington voter concerned about the status of their ballot, whether submitted by mail or through an official ballot dropbox, can check its status at VoteWA.gov or contact their local county auditor or elections department to track its progress through the secure collection and counting process.

Voting in Washington state is both safe and easy. Our state boasts one of the most secure election systems in the nation, and we uphold the rights of every voter with the utmost seriousness.

We encourage everyone to return their ballots as early as possible, either through postage-free mail, a secure official ballot dropbox, or by visiting an in-person voting center. Remember, all ballots must be submitted by 8:00 PM on November 5th.

For any questions about voting, or if you encounter suspicious activity related to our elections, please don’t hesitate to call the Washington State Democrats’ Voter Protection Hotline at 206-309-VOTE (8683). Your vote is critical to our democracy, and we are here to ensure it is protected.

Sincerely,
Washington State Democrats
