Now that the dust has settled from Election Night, it’s time for us to stand up and plot the course forward.
Thanks to your support, Washington delivered the strongest Democratic performance in the entire country.
That’s not by accident – our well-organized, well-financed GOTV operation allowed us to elect incredible Democrats at every level.
But with Trump heading back to the White House and starting to make appointments, our work is only beginning.
His choice of Matt Gaetz for Attorney General, the nation’s top law enforcement officer shows us exactly what’s to come.
Gaetz, one of the most extreme figures in Congress, has already floated the idea of abolishing critical agencies like the FBI and ATF.
This is a dangerous agenda, and we must be ready to fight it every step of the way.
We can still block this in the Senate, but we cannot count on it happening on its own. We know Trump and his allies will look for every way possible to force through harmful appointments, exploit loopholes in the system, and undermine the protections we rely on.
Washington must lead the resistance against these extremist moves and ensure that our rights and communities are protected.
This is the first of many fights ahead, and the whole country will be watching us to see how we respond.
