The U.S. House recently passed the SAVE America Act, a dangerous bill that would require Americans to provide proof of citizenship to register to vote and a photo ID to cast a ballot.
If this bill becomes law, millions of Americans could be blocked from voting.
Just here, in Washington, about 1.5 million people could lose their right to vote just because they changed their names when they got married, the vast majority of whom are women.
Make no mistake: this is voter suppression, plain and simple. The SAVE America Act isn’t about saving democracy. It’s about Trump, Vance, and Republicans trying to save themselves from voters.
The bill now heads to the Senate, and we need to make our voices heard before it’s too late. Lawmakers need to know that Washingtonians will not stand for this.
