TOMORROW I can’t wait to see everyone outside and taking to the streets for the 3rd No Kings protest. Find the protest nearest you and join millions of Americans at more than 3,000 different events. These protests show the world that we, the people, do not condone the actions of our lawless federal government and their horrific abuses. We are stating that we do not have kings in America and that we will use our democracy and relentless grassroots organizing to build a better future for all of us. Each No Kings protest has been bigger than the one before it, undercutting the Trump-Vance administration’s futile attempts to portray strength and giving support to those who are actively resisting their tyranny. Bring your friends. Bring your family. Project joy and resistance. I look forward to seeing you there.

Democrats Fight Back
U.S. Representative Adam Smith has been an integral part of the national Democrats’ efforts to constrain and provide accountability for Trump-Vance’s illegal war with Iran. The Trump-Vance administration has no clear objectives in this war and absolutely no strategy to achieve victory. They disrupted the global economy, put American servicemembers in harm’s way, and have killed countless civilians all to appease the ego of a tyrant. We need Republicans to grow a spine (good luck), but until that day comes, we will be working around the clock to make sure the people take their power away in this year’s midterm elections. On Tuesday, Democrats racked up yet another flip of a Republican seat. This time, in Florida’s House District 87, Democrat Emily Gregory (who was outspent by 35% in a Trump +11 district) defeated her opponent. This is the same district that includes Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s backyard. Also, in Florida’s Senate District 14, Democrat Brian Nathan won this Trump +7 district despite being outspent 3-1. If we can win in Trump’s own backyard, we can win anywhere. Since the 2024 election, Democrats have won nearly 90% of elections across the country. Let’s keep the momentum going!

WHAT I’M WATCHING
NOTUS perspectives collect opinions and analysis from different sources (often but not exclusively Democrats and Republicans). This one, featuring voices of 22 college students and recent graduates demonstrates the wide variety of opinions, hopes, and fears that our young people have about our society and the problems that Congress and the White House are supposed to solve. This is an important read, not just for our elected officials, but anyone who wants to authentically connect and mobilize young people who are already shouldering a lot of the burdens of our society.
