Working for Washington
It’s almost here! One week from today, more than 1,000 delegates will convene in person and virtually in Spokane at the 2026 Washington State Democratic Party Convention. Delegates will debate and pass a policy platform to serve as the guiding framework for our party’s ideals and vision for the future.
We are pulling out all the stops to ensure everyone has a tremendous convention that will power us into the August 4 primary election and onto the general election! I am proud to announce that our Juneteenth Celebration of Black Excellence featuring Attorney General Nick Brown AND our Saturday Evening Gala have already SOLD OUT! You do not need to be a delegate to attend our convention. Guests are more than welcome, and attendance is free! If you would like to join us as a guest, please register your attendance here.
Last week, I had the pleasure of welcoming Washington Democrat’s 2026 coordinated campaign Field Organizers at the Washington State Labor Council where they attended their onboarding training. Every one of our Field Organizers are now out in the field, activating communities, recruiting volunteers, and building the winning campaigns for Democratic candidates up and down the ballot voter-by-voter.
We need everyone to pitch in for their communities so we can win not just here in Washington state, but across the country. Sign up for a volunteer shift in your community here!
Democrats Fight Back
Rural Americans United has launched a billboard campaign in Central Washington to drive voter participation among Latino/a communities. In 2024, six of the ten counties with the lowest voter participation were in Central Washington. As Latino support for Trump craters after his unconstitutional immigration efforts and failed economic policies, Washington Democrats in the Yakima Valley will be hard at work to convince voters in those communities to support our candidates up and down the ballot.
Activists and volunteers in Eastern Washington launched the Help Save America Campaign to put up billboards, send postcards, and launch digital messaging around the failed policies of Rep. Michael Baumgartner and Rep. Dan Newhouse. Two octogenarians banded together to raise more than $116,000 for these efforts to drive home the kitchen table issues that families in every corner of our state are facing. Their goal is to keep these efforts going through the November election, but they need our support. Please go to www.SupportProsperityEWA.org to see their work and make a donation. WHAT I’M WATCHING
The red state, blue state divide is real. But it’s driven by more than just politics,
NPR
This article spoke to me as we see more headlines about people moving to new states because of political preferences. What’s more important than ever is breaking out of our bubbles and having conversations with people who don’t agree with us on every issue. Washington Democrats’ emphasis on deep canvassing which starts with connection before moving to persuasion has impressed on me that fundamentally, no matter who you vote for, the vast majority of us want the same things – personal safety, personal freedom, and the means to achieve our goals. Now it’s up to us to make the case that Democratic policies are the best way to achieve those goals.
Thanks for all you do,

Chair Shasti Conrad
Washington State Democratic Party

In 2024, Washington Democrats led the nation with sweeping electoral victories. Now, we’re fighting to elect a supermajority in Olympia, protect our swing seats in the House, and stand up to MAGA extremism across the country.
WA Dems empowers grassroots organizing and elects Democrats up and down the ballot. Your support fuels our fight to stop Trump and defend our democracy.
We sincerely thank you for your help and support.
