I hope this message finds you well. As the Executive Director of the Washington State Democrats, I’m excited to remind you that the primary election season is officially underway! Your voice and vote are critical in shaping the future of our state and our nation.

Key Dates to Remember:

  • July 19: Start of the 18-day voting period (through Election Day). Ballots are mailed out and Accessible Voting Units (AVUs) are available at voting centers.
  • July 29: Online and mail registrations must be received 8 days before Election Day. Register to vote in person during business hours and any time before 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
  • August 6: Deadline for Washington State voter registration or updates (in person only).
  • August 6Primary Election Day – Deposit your ballot in an official drop box by 8 p.m.

It is crucial that every eligible voter makes their voice heard. Our democracy thrives when we all participate. This year, we have the opportunity to support Democratic candidates up and down the ballot who are committed to protecting our rights, expanding access to quality education, ensuring affordable healthcare, and addressing the climate crisis.

Here’s how you can make sure your vote counts:

  1. Check Your Registration: Ensure your voter registration is up-to-date. If you need to register or update your information, you can do so online until July 29 or in person until August 6.
  2. Vote Early: As soon as you receive your ballot, take a moment to fill it out and return it. Early voting helps ensure your vote is counted and reduces the chance of last-minute issues.
  3. Use Official Drop Boxes: Deposit your ballot in one of the official drop boxes located throughout the state by 8 p.m. on Election Day, August 6.
  4. Encourage Others to Vote: Remind your friends, family, and neighbors to vote. Every vote makes a difference.

Thank you for being an active participant in our democracy. Together, we can make a significant impact and ensure that our values are represented.
