Washington Democrats condemn political violence in the strongest of terms. I commend the Secret Service and law enforcement for taking swift action, and I’m relieved Trump is safe. My thoughts are with the victims, their families and friends.
Now more than ever, we must come together as a nation and denounce violence in all its forms. Violence has no place in our democracy.
In a democracy everyone – no matter their political ideology, race, gender, zip code or religion – has the right to feel safe. The time to end gun violence in America once and for all is now.
