It’s hard to put into words how it feels to walk into Congress for the first time. I’m still learning the ropes, but I’m also filled with hope for what we can accomplish together – for working families, for our communities, and for a brighter future.
I recognize the responsibility and privilege of being the first – though certainly not the last! – queer Latina in Congress. As a working-class woman and the first in my family to graduate from college, I carry with me the experiences, challenges, and dreams of so many who are too often left behind.
My presence here sends a message: ALL of us are welcome, ALL of us deserve respect, and ALL of us have a role to play in shaping our nation’s future.
To make that message a reality, I need your partnership. The fights ahead will be tough, but with grassroots power, we can deliver real wins for working families in Washington and beyond.
Our victories didn’t happen by chance. It’s because of people like you who believe in what’s possible when we work together. Let’s build on that progress and create the future we know is possible.
With gratitude,
Congresswoman Emily Randall
