I’m Elizabeth Parent (she/her), and I’m thrilled to be joining the Washington State Democrats as one of our newest Regional Leaders for Northwest Washington.

My path into politics hasn’t been typical. I was raised and homeschooled on a conservative homestead in rural Kitsap County. In fact, I’m the granddaughter of prominent Republican Ellen Craswell. For years, I wanted nothing to do with politics. But moving to North Carolina changed everything. Witnessing firsthand the inequalities around me, I made a choice: to dedicate my life to building people-powered progressive movements.

Since then, I’ve organized and strategized across the country. I helped build North Carolina’s Senate Democratic Caucus field program from scratch, reaching 2.5 million doors and winning key races, including electing NC Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs. Back home in Washington, I knocked 2,000 doors in 9 weeks for Senator Victoria Hunt, helping secure a win in Legislative District 5. 

Along the way, I’ve led high-energy volunteer events with hundreds of people and national-level visibility, all while raising my three kids and staying true to my values as a queer woman.

And now, I’m asking for your help to start 2026 strong. If we want to protect our democracy and win this year, we have to build our organizing power now, in every community, from urban centers to rural towns.
