Friend,
lack History Month is a time for celebration, reflection, and action. We honor the generations of Black leaders who have shaped our nation – from the civil rights pioneers who fought for justice to the organizers today who continue the fight for equity and progress. Last year we elected the first Black person to statewide executive office when Nick Brown became our new Attorney General.
Here in Washington, we have made historic strides to protect voting rights, expand access to education, and invest in Black communities. But we know that the fight is far from over. The Trump administration is actively working to dismantle the progress we’ve made – rolling back protections, restricting rights, and empowering extremists who want to erase history.
We refuse to let that happen.
The Washington Democrats are committed to ensuring that Black voices are heard, Black communities are supported, and Black history is protected. And we need you in this fight.
Progress isn’t inevitable – it’s something we fight for every single day. Let’s continue to stand together, honor the past, and build a future rooted in justice, equity, and opportunity for all.
In solidarity,
Washington State Democrats
