Hedge fund billionaire Brian Heywood’s right-wing group Let’s Go Washington is trying to overturn the law and strip voters of protections that keep critical policies like this in place.
Meanwhile, Republican former Attorney General Rob McKenna is teaming up with the Citizen Action Defense Fund to file a lawsuit to block the tax entirely.
Because for the first time, the ultra-wealthy aren’t getting special treatment.
They lost in the legislature, so now they’re trying to rig the courts.
On top of that, McKenna and his allies are already organizing to reshape the Washington Supreme Court, backing conservative judges who will side with billionaires and roll back decades of progress.
This is the court that ended the death penalty, took on racial bias in policing, and protected young people from extreme sentencing. Now, the right wants to remake it in their image to block taxes on the rich and undo everything Washingtonians have fought for.
