After the defeat of H.R. 9495 this week in a parliamentary procedure requiring a two-thirds majority, Republicans are already plotting a second attempt to push it through.

Congress is set to vote again on Monday, and we need to ensure they don’t have the votes to pass this dangerous bill.

Please call your representative today: Urge them to oppose H.R. 9495 and protect nonprofits from Trump’s attacks.

As a reminder, here’s why H.R. 9495 is so dangerous:

🚩 Unchecked Power: Trump and his Treasury Department would have sweeping authority to label U.S. nonprofits as “terrorist-supporting organizations”—no oversight, no due process, just unilateral power.
🚩Political Targeting: Under this bill, nonprofits advocating for human rights, environmental protection, reproductive rights, and other critical issues could lose their tax-exempt status simply for opposing Trump’s Project 2025 agenda.
🚩Chilling Effect: This broad and vague authority could intimidate organizations and stifle advocacy work. Nonprofits would risk financial ruin just for standing up for our basic rights and freedoms.

In short, H.R. 9495 opens the door for Trump to use the Treasury Department as a weapon against those who challenge him. Call your Representative and urge them to vote NO on H.R. 9495.
