Last Friday, a Texas jury convicted eight people for protesting outside an ICE detention center. A teacher. A college student. An engineer. A UPS worker. MAGA called them a “cell.” Legal experts called it what it is: a test of how far this government can go to punish protesters.
We’ve seen this playbook before. SB8. Abortion bans. Voter suppression. They pilot their attacks on freedom in Texas, then export them nationwide.
We will not comply.
Feminists have always known this truth: power taken without consent is illegitimate. A government that criminalizes its own people has forfeited the right to govern. We do not recognize its authority over our bodies, our streets, or our movements. America has no kings.
No kings. No tyrants. No exceptions.
