In just the first three months of 2025, lawmakers have introduced 41 new bills to criminalize protest. Peaceful dissent is being met with felony charges, civil lawsuits, and threats of prison time—just for speaking out.
We’ve seen it before. From Standing Rock to the fight for racial justice, the same playbook gets recycled: intimidate organizers, punish communities, and drown our movements in fear and red tape.
But here’s what history shows: repression doesn’t stop resistance—it fuels it.
As long as Women’s March exists, we will fight like hell to defend our freedom to protest. Because protest is not a threat—it is a lifeline for democracy.
The fascists may try to legislate us into silence—but we’ve faced worse. And we are not going anywhere.
In solidarity,
Women’s March
