RELIGION AND THE FREEDOM TO CHOOSE: ABORTION, CHRISTIANITY, AND DEMOCRACY
Abortion, perhaps more than any other issue, is emblematic of the conflict between religion and secularism. Yet this may not be how the public sees the issue. Human and civil rights along with freedom and privacy are also at stake. How can we understand religion’s role in forming opinions on abortion and other political issues?
Most Americans support the right to choose. Yet we can expect a propaganda blitz about abortion now that the Supreme Court is set to overturn Roe v. Wade. How can we counter the coming domestic messaging?
On July 10th at 2 pm Pacific Time, African-American minister Dom Jones and author and attorney Rich Procida will lead a discussion about the connection between religion, democracy, and the freedom to choose.
