WA Immigrant Solidarity Network – June 2, 2026

WAISN’s Deportation Defense Hotline and Rapid Response Teams receive reports related to immigration enforcement activity across Washington, including calls for post-detention support, sightings of immigration enforcement, and urgent alerts about detentions.

To help ensure you and your loved ones stay informed, we’re sharing some information on the reports we received from April 16–30, the trends our Rapid Response Teams are seeing, and how communities can show up to support each other.

These numbers are not just statistics, they reflect stories of family separation, surveillance, and intimidation tactics that sometimes lead to deadly consequences.

20 reports of immigration enforcement activity came through the WAISN Deportation Defense Hotline and Rapid Response Teams in the second half of March. Here’s what we saw:

25 reports of immigration enforcement activity came through the WAISN Deportation Defense Hotline and Rapid Response Teams in the second half of April

We were able to confirm the detention of 29 people, with 13 of those detentions occurring during an immigration raid in Mason County on April 29, one of the largest single-day enforcement operations in recent months.

The heaviest activity was in Mason and Whatcom counties—and particular hotspots in the cities of Shelton, Lynden, and Bellingham.

Trends to watch

While most activity in recent months has been focused on targeted individual stops, the raid in Mason County marks a shift. The operation involved 7–10 vehicles, and covered multiple locations—signaling that agencies may be testing larger-scale operations in places where they expect less vigilance.

That’s why ensuring we have Rapid Response capacity in rural areas matters so much right now. Mason County, like many rural counties in Washington, has fewer rapid response volunteers on the ground than urban areas do. When immigration agencies enter communities with less coverage, they can move faster and with less accountability.

Building Rapid Response capacity in every corner of the state is how we make sure no community in WA is left without support—so if you can, join our next Rapid Response training on June 8 at 6 PM. This event is virtual, free, and bilingual in English and Spanish—and other languages can be requested in the registration form or emailing by language@waisn.org.

A note on how we create these updates: These reports are informed directly by our Rapid Response Teams and calls to the Hotline from everyday people who refuse to let these agencies act in the shadows.

By working together and reporting what we see across the state, especially in rural areas, we’re able to track critical patterns and give our communities a clearer picture of what is happening on the ground.

While we prioritize accuracy over speed and only share verified patterns, your contributions are what makes this community-led reporting possible. If you see immigration enforcement first-hand or a loved one has been detained, please text or call the WAISN Hotline at 1-844-724-3737 from Monday through Friday 6am-6pm.

If your call is not answered, text the Hotline number letting us know what you are calling about in detail, and we will try to follow up.

When reporting immigration enforcement activity, try to provide as many details with documentation as possible, including:

  • Date and time of sighting and activity
  • Street name and description of the area where it happened
  • Pictures and videos of the interaction
  • Descriptions of what agents were doing and wearing, and what vehicles were present

We all have constitutional rights regardless of immigration status. You are not alone. Please know that WAISN is here to support you. Our Rapid Response Teams are ready, and our network remains alert—it was built for this moment.

In the face of threats and attacks on our collective safety, community will prevail.

In solidarity,

The Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network
