I couldn’t end the year without checking in one last time: I want to ask you to reaffirm your support for the work of the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network, which will be more important than ever as we challenge anti-immigrant policies and rhetoric in the years ahead.
As 2024 comes to an end, I want to take a moment to reflect on what this community has achieved this year. Together, we’ve continued to build something amazing — a movement led by and for immigrants and refugees.
This year, thanks to your support, WAISN made history.
In February, over four hundred immigrants, allies, and organizations gathered with us in Olympia for our largest-ever Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Day, helping us secure historic victories for immigrant healthcare and $25 million in funding for programs to support newly-arrived migrants.
Oh, and we danced!
In the fall, we convened with leaders of WAISN member organizations from more than 20 counties on Yakama Nation lands in Toppenish for our 2024 Membership Convening – our first in-person membership meeting since COVID-19!
This year’s victories weren’t just legislative or programmatic; they were personal. Every bond paid, every Hotline call answered, and every moment of advocacy has brought us closer to a Washington where all of us, regardless of immigration status, can live and thrive.
These moments remind me why I fight: because when we organize, we win!
I know the challenges ahead are steep, anti-immigrant forces are mobilizing to try and erode our rights and these wins we’ve fought so hard for. But I want to let you know that WAISN is ready, I am ready. Together, we are building the power and infrastructure to resist any attacks on our communities and continue to push forward a bold vision for immigrant justice.
We have so much to celebrate this year, and even more to achieve. Thank you for standing with us, believing in our vision, and being a vital part of this fight for justice.

No quería terminar el año sin antes saludarlos por última vez: me gustaría aprovechar esta ocasión para pedirle que se solidarice con nuestro trabajo en la Red de Solidaridad de Inmigrantes en Washington (WAISN, por sus siglas en inglés), que es más importante que nunca para enfrentemos a las políticas y a la retórica anti-inmigrante en los próximos años.
Ahora que el 2024 está llegando a su fin, quiero dedicar un momento para reflexionar sobre lo que nuestra comunidad ha logrado este año. Juntos, hemos construido algo increíble: un movimiento liderado por y para inmigrantes y refugiados.
Este año, gracias a su apoyo, WAISN ha hecho historia.
En febrero, más de 400 inmigrantes, aliados y organizaciones se reunieron con nosotros en Olympia para participar en el Día de Abogacía para Inmigrantes y Refugiados más grande que hemos organizado, lo que nos ayudó a obtener victorias históricas para la atención médica de los inmigrantes y $25 millones en fondos para programas de apoyo a los migrantes recién llegados.
Oh, y también bailamos!
En el otoño, nos reunimos con nuestra membresía representando a 20 condados de nuestro estado, en las tierras de la Nación Yakama en Toppenish para nuestra Convocatoria de Miembros 2024 – ¡nuestra primera reunión de miembros en persona desde COVID-19!
Las victorias de este año no sólo han sido legislativas o sobre programas, también han sido muy personales. Cada fianza pagada, cada llamada atendida en la Línea de Apoyo y cada esfuerzo de abogacía nos han acercado a un Washington en el que todos, independientemente de nuestro estatus migratorio, podamos vivir y prosperar.
Momentos así me recuerdan por qué lucho: porque cuando nos organizamos, ganamos.
Yo se que tenemos varios retos por delante, que los grupos anti-inmigrantes se están movilizando para tratar de eliminar nuestros derechos y las victorias por las que tanto hemos luchado. Sin embargo, quiero que sepa que en WAISN estamos listos. Yo estoy lista. Juntos, estamos fortaleciendo el poder y la infraestructura para resistir cualquier ataque hacia nuestras comunidades y seguiremos luchando por un futuro de justicia para los inmigrantes. Este trabajo es posible gracias al apoyo continuo de miembros de la comunidad como usted.
¿Podría hacer una última donación para que nuestro movimiento pueda empezar con fuerza en el 2025?
