WA Immigrant Solidarity Network – April 14, 2026

Posted on April 14, 2026

[Español Abajo]

WAISN’s Deportation Defense Hotline and Rapid Response Teams receive reports related to immigration enforcement activity across WA, including calls for post-detention support, sightings of immigration enforcement, and urgent alerts about detentions.

To help ensure you and your loved ones stay informed, we’re sharing some information on the reports we received in February of this year, the trends our Rapid Response Teams are seeing, and how communities can show up to protect each other.

These numbers are not just statistics, they reflect stories of family separation, surveillance, and intimidation tactics that sometimes lead to deadly consequences.

21 reports of immigration enforcement activity came through the WAISN Deportation Defense Hotline and Rapid Response Teams in February. Here’s what we saw:

Reports and Detentions by County: Based on these reports, we were able to confirm the detention of nine people, with the highest concentration of confirmed activity in Whatcom and Thurston counties, and hotspots in the cities of Olympia and Bellingham.

Trends to watch:  Throughout this year we’ve seen most reports of immigration enforcement happening in the community—while driving to and from work, or during the workday—with roughly 70% of all confirmed detentions in this period happening during traffic stops, on public streets, or at a workplace.

We’ve seen that immigration agencies seem to be targeting specific individuals, with operations demonstrating a high level of coordination including vehicle blockades and the presence of multiple agents on the scene, wearing Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement vests, with some identified as “ICE Police.”

In several instances, the detained individuals have active immigration proceedings such as a pending asylum case.

To help support community members impacted by this trend, join a Rapid Response team to help expand our network of visibility and confirm reports of immigration enforcement in our communities.

We offer two online training sessions each month — with the next one happening April 30 — so you can receive training from home and plug into a team in your area. We are particularly looking to expand or build teams in King County (especially Kent, Auburn, Renton, and Shoreline), and Whatcom, Yakima, Grant and Adams counties.

A note on how we create these updates: These reports are not meant to be real-time alerts of enforcement. We prioritize accuracy over speed, only sharing trend reports once the immigration activity patterns are verified and can be responsibly contextualized.

If you see immigration enforcement first-hand or a loved one has been detained, please text or call the WAISN Hotline at 1-844-724-3737 from Monday through Friday 6am-6pm.

If your call is not answered, text the Hotline number letting us know what you are calling about in detail, and we will try to follow up.

When reporting immigration enforcement activity, try to provide as many details with documentation as possible, including:

  • Date and time of sighting and activity
  • Street name and description of the area where it happened
  • Pictures and videos of the interaction
  • Descriptions of what agents were doing and wearing, and what vehicles were present

We all have constitutional rights regardless of immigration status. You are not alone. Please know that WAISN is here to support you. Our Rapid Response teams are ready, and our network remains alert—it was built for this moment.

In the face of threats and attacks on our collective safety, community will prevail.

In solidarity,

The Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network
