The race for State Lands Commissioner might not be at the top of your ballot, but it’s making headlines across Washington. Our campaign continues to generate grassroots enthusiasm across the state, and supporters are speaking up:
“Upthegrove genuinely cares about the future of our public lands and has the knowledge to manage them for the benefit of all Washingtonians.”
Cindy Widmer, College Place: Upthegrove Cares About Public Lands in the Tri-City Herald
“Dave Upthegrove has the leadership we need to ensure that Washington’s public lands are managed responsibly and sustainably.”
Mark Leed, Vancouver: Support Upthegrove for Lands in The Columbian
“Washington firefighters now support Upthegrove…The choice is clear-for Washington’s future. Vote Upthegrove on Nov. 5.”
Karen Wilson, Camano Island: Upthegrove best for environment in HeraldNet
But having passionate vocal supporters isn’t enough. We also need the financial resources to compete.
The logging industry is hammering me on the airwaves with a half a million dollars of dishonest negative TV ads. And my opponent is raising money at a faster pace than me down the stretch.
We risk losing this critical statewide office to Republicans if I am not able to raise the necessary money in the final weeks. I am sounding the alarm: I need your help.
Now is the time when voters are paying attention. Now is the time that I need the resources to be on the air with my advertising.
Every dollar I raise will go directly into voter contact like more TV ads, digital media or other communication to help ensure we finish strong and win.
Any contribution up to the $2400 individual limit ($4800 for couples) is deeply appreciated.
I am running a grassroots, people-powered campaign. More than 6,000 people have already made donations– some as small as $2. And that is precisely how we win: by everyone chipping in what they can, whether $10, $25, $50, $100, $500 or more.
Together, we can prevail on November 5th and ensure that our public lands are managed in the public interest for all of the people of the State of Washington.
Dave
