Campaigning for Commissioner of Public Lands these past 17 months has been an unforgettable journey. It’s tested me personally and professionally in ways I didn’t expect—but it’s been deeply rewarding.
Raising funds to run a statewide race has been a constant, challenging grind. Balancing campaign work and travel with my full-time job as King County Council Chair has been exhausting, demanding seven-day work weeks. And being targeted by the timber industry’s relentless smear campaign (which is still flooding the airwaves with dishonest ads about me) has been surreal and emotionally draining.
But I knew what I was signing up for and I don’t regret a moment of it.
Along the way I’ve formed incredible friendships, gained a deeper understanding of our rural communities, and learned so much about our state.
No matter the outcome tomorrow night, I know I’ve given this campaign my very best.
It isn’t too late to help. Almost half of the people will vote in this final day and a half.
This is my final ask. Can you rush a contribution today of ANY amount that is meaningful to you– ANY amount up to the $2400 maximum?
Every dollar raised today will immediately expand the frequency and geographic reach of my advertising. Throughout the day I will be communicating with my vendor and “ramping up” my ad buy based on your contributions.
This last minute push can make the difference.
I’ve given this my all, and I hope you’ll consider digging deep to give this your all as well.
We don’t want to wake up Wednesday morning to find our state lands have been turned over to a Republican who has always done the bidding of the corporate industry donors who bankroll her campaigns.
Our climate and our future are at stake.
In these final hours, I’m reminded of everyone who’s joined me on this journey over the past 17 months—your support, your kindness, and your belief in what we can accomplish together. I am so grateful. Whatever happens, I know that we’ve stood up for our shared values and that together, we’ve built something that will last far beyond this election. Thank you for everything.
