The future of Washington’s public lands is at risk and it has all come down to 51 votes statewide!
More than 2.5 million Washingtonians voted in the race for Public Lands Commissioner. The top two candidates – regardless of party – will be on the ballot in November. There’s a chance it could be two Republicans, either of whom would sell out our state and jeopardize our wildfire management.
That’s why I’ve endorsed Democrat Dave Upthegrove. Right now, he’s up by 51 votes. That is a margin of only 1/1000th of a percent.
This mandatory hand recount will be the closest in our state’s history – and costly. Dave needs our support to fight and make sure every single vote gets accurately counted. And if he holds his lead, he’ll need our help to beat his Republican opponent in November.
Join me in supporting Dave Upthegrove at this critical moment for our public lands. This is happening right now – don’t delay your donation.
Dave has hired experienced election attorneys for the recount, as well as additional campaign staff to help manage the hundreds of volunteers needed to serve as election recount observers in all 39 counties.
It’s a big expense. Dave is counting on Washingtonians who care about protecting our public lands from corporate greed to step up now, at the moment it truly matters most.
Are you with us?
Very truly yours,
Jay Inslee
