It takes a lot of people power to stop oil wars and rigged elections and win affordable healthcare and racial justice. Individuals acting alone will not be enough– to organize means to move as a collective and build enough power that we cannot be ignored.
One way we do this is by joining an organization. Think of all the movements for change you admire. At the heart of them all, there were organizations working together to win a shared agenda.
This week at SURJ, it’s our National Membership Drive, and we’re asking you to join our organization. This means chipping in with monthly dues and your time and skills to help power the work of SURJ. We are proud to be a social movement organization that is leading and a part of nearly every national social justice coalition fighting against authoritarianism right now.
We are proud to carry on the legacy of anti-racist white organizations before us that took on the responsibility of organizing our own against racism.
