“We build trust; we learn how to organize, we take actions that five years ago we never thought we’d take.”
–SURJ member Kerry
The Trump administration is charging full speed into the MAGA agenda: mass deportations without due process, the dismantling of social services, union-busting hundreds of thousands of federal workers, an onslaught of anti-trans executive orders, and so much more. And instead of backing down—SURJ is getting bigger.
White people have a particular role in this moment to turn up the volume on our resistance—it’s exactly what MAGA and the billionaires don’t want.
Alongside our partners, we’re welcoming in thousands of new people, training up organizers across the country, and playing a leading role in organizing resistance. Thank you for taking action with us this year. Can you increase your impact today by making a donation to ensure we have the resources to keep fighting for the world we know is possible?
As you know, our members have been busy this year: our post-election Gear Up campaign culminated in thousands of our members organizing over 60 rallies for our national day of action, resulting in elected officials and local leaders across the country signing our “Pledge to Protect and Resist.”
Building off of that, we’ve organized the Protect & Resist campaign, where over 5,000 white organizers have joined to deepen our analysis of what’s happening in the current political landscape and take action steps like supporting immigrants and organizing elected officials to sign the pledge.

Over 15,000 people have joined SURJ since Inauguration Day. It’s clear people like you are hungry for this work and belonging and community—and we’re ready to bring in thousands more. After our national action with labor unions on May 1, we’ll be rolling out our organizing plans for the summer into the fall.
We need to grow this work now more than ever—can you donate today to help SURJ keep showing up?
In solidarity,
Erin Heaney
