While we’re all probably burned out on the word “unprecedented” at this point, it is undeniable that our current political horizon holds escalated challenges we haven’t seen before. We must soberly face that reality. And– there are lessons we can glean from movements for justice that have been resisting– and winning– under repressive conditions for decades.
Join SURJ this Wednesday, December 18 at 8 pm ET for a training webinar, “What we’re facing– and how we fight back: building resistance under a MAGA administration.” We’ll be joined in conversation by partners who lead social change work on the frontlines in Black communities fighting for political power, immigrant rights organizing, and under authoritarian governments in Brazil.

After our panel with Rukia Lumumba from the Movement for Black Lives, Marcela Hernandez from Detention Watch Network, and Tica Moreno from World March of Women Brazil, SURJ organizers will lead us through a training on relational recruitment and how to build our movements– a core skill we’ll need to get to the scale needed to win campaigns and transform conditions.

This is the second call in the “Gear Up” program, our 10-week training series for white people to prepare to resist under Trump. You can register for the remaining calls here.

See you Wednesday to dig deep and get trained up.
