Re: No on 2117 Campaign Update | 500 Organizations United to Defeat I-2117
Date: September 27, 2024
We are building a coalition that is unprecedented in the history of Washington State politics.
This week, our coalition grew to over 500 organizations and Tribal Nations who are all standing together to defeat I-2117: firefighters, small business owners, Tribal Nations, doctors and nurses, labor unions, environmental groups, community organizations, and more. Meet our coalition members here.
Three new ads were launched this week, featuring a truck driver, a farmer, and a firefighter highlighting I-2117’s harms to Washington’s air and water, wildfire prevention, and statewide transportation system. Watch them here.

These ads join a rotation of other ads, already on the air, highlighting the harms of I-2117: “Snail,” “At Risk,” “Your Child,” and a Spanish-language ad “Familias Seguras.”
A new report also highlights the cost of I-2117 to our economy: 45,000 jobs and a $9 billion hit to our economy. Read about it here.
Our grassroots organizing program continues to grow as we recruit volunteers to talk to voters across our state on the doors and on the phone. Ballots will be mailed out in 21 days. Want to help us reach more voters? Learn about general upcoming volunteer opportunities here, and join our Really Big Phone Bank this Saturday, 9/28, here.
Have questions about our campaign? Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for all you’re doing to help defeat I-2117 and defend our communities,
Wellesley
