With the election fast approaching, we want to make sure Washingtonians know what’s at stake. If Initiative 2109 passes and the capital gains tax is repealed, it will cut billions of dollars in funding for schools and childcare – investments Washington families can’t afford to lose.

As Constance explains in our ad, raising a family can be expensive. Washington’s capital gains tax is helping families breathe easier by providing critical funding for schools, child care, and early learning centers.

Only 0.2% of Washingtonians pay the capital gains tax. The other 99.8% of us rely on the funding from this tax to educate our children and prepare them for their futures. We can’t afford to repeal the capital gains tax – but that’s exactly what I-2109 would do.
