Friend,
It’s official: The Seattle Times has endorsed a NO vote on Initiative 2109!
Momentum is on our side – and with just days until voting begins, we need your support to keep it up.
If we defeat I-2109, we’ll preserve the capital gains tax – and with it, billions of dollars for K-12 education, early learning centers, child care, and more.
As the Seattle Times put it: “Voters should look at the capital gains tax as an investment — an investment in Washington’s future made by those fortunate enough to have amassed great wealth.”
That’s how we see it. But our opposition is spending big to give mega-millionaires a tax cut they don’t need. If I-2109 passes and the capital gains tax is repealed, Washington state would lose $2.2 billion over the next five years.
The Seattle Times boiled it down to this: “A ‘no’ vote on Initiative 2109 is a ‘yes’ for Washington families.” That’s a fact – and your contribution will help ensure Washington voters know it.
Thank you for your support,
Samantha Casne
