Today is Teacher Appreciation Day!
As a product of Washington’s public education system, Nick is a fierce advocate for teachers, students, and high-quality public education for all. He wouldn’t be the public servant he is today without the many educators who impacted his life as he grew up.
Nick’s favorite teacher in high school in Steilacoom was Mr. Vanwert, a history teacher. Mr. Vanwert taught Nick about the foundations of our country, political systems, and government, and inspired Nick to make an impact on his community. And he always shared his quick wit and sense of humor with his students when he taught.
Washington’s teachers are the beating heart of our public schools and our communities — and Teacher Appreciation Week reminds us they need our support and appreciation every day of the year.
As Attorney General Nick will partner with our educators to do all he can to address the challenges Washington’s public school system faces, from declining educational outcomes to the crisis of student mental health, to inequities students with disabilities face and lack of adequate funding for teachers. He needs this grassroots team on his side to deliver for our teachers.
Nick will always fight for Washington’s schools, and he’s counting on your help to make lasting change to help teachers and students thrive.
Thanks for showing up for Nick and Washington’s teachers!
