Happy Black History Month!
Black history deserves to be celebrated every month, but this month serves as a special opportunity to come together and share the stories of the incredible Black leaders and changemakers who came before us.
So many civil rights leaders and heroes have long been overlooked by history, like the Black men and women of the U.S. military who broke countless barriers in the military. As a Black U.S. Army veteran and HBCU graduate, this month is incredibly significant to me and has me reflecting on the historic nature of our campaign.
Together, we have the opportunity to make our own history in Washington. Winning the Attorney General’s race would make me Washington’s first Black statewide executive office holder.
I’m excited to continue to put in the work to ensure we win this historic campaign. This month, I’ll be traveling the state and attending more events to spread my vision for Washington and celebrate Black History Month. So be on the lookout for more updates later in February on how I’ve been honoring the contributions and legacies of my fellow Black Americans.
Thanks for taking the time to read my note, and please take time this month to educate yourself on and celebrate Black history.
Best,
— Nick
