Last week, the Arizona Supreme Court reinstated a Civil War-era abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest.
This egregious ruling defies what the majority of Americans believe — that abortion should be legal and accessible. It is the latest in a long line of court decisions designed to control and criminalize abortion patients and providers.
You deserve to know where I stand, Kendall. I firmly and unequivocally support abortion rights. Abortion is health care. And as Attorney General, I will do everything in my power to protect abortion access for all.
Washington needs an Attorney General who will uphold our tradition of being a safe haven for people seeking abortion care — including those traveling for medical care who are criminalized in their own states.
Overturning Roe was only part of their plan. Anti-abortion politicians want to turn every state into an abortion desert, cutting off critical access to health care for millions. But not in Washington. Not on my watch.
