Over the past few months, our team has asked you to share your priorities for Washington with us. I genuinely enjoy reading your thoughts and concerns. They remind me of the conversations I’ve had while traveling Washington — speaking with unions, tribal leaders, small business owners, and community members across Washington’s 39 counties.
But today, I want to share my own priorities with you. As Primary Election Day gets closer, it’s important to tell you what matters to me — values that reflect what you’ve shared with me about your families and communities.
I am committed to building safe and thriving communities free from gun violence, drugs like fentanyl, and discrimination.
I will work to create an economy that works for everyone, focusing on putting workers and their rights front and center.
I will do everything in my power to protect democracy and defend civil rights, and am ready to stand up against threats to Washingtonians’ fundamental freedoms whenever necessary.
I will fiercely address climate change and protect Washington’s environment — prioritizing finding solutions to the climate crisis so our children, grandchildren, and future generations can thrive.
I respect tribal nations and will use the Attorney General’s office to protect tribal sovereignty and work to find missing and murdered Indigenous women.
I am dedicated to championing abortion rights and health care access and will defend Washingtonians from right-wing attempts to criminalize abortion providers and patients.
I will live up to Washington’s commitment to our active-duty military and veterans and work to protect those who served from homelessness, abuse, and scams.
Finally, I promise to fight for a more just legal system where all Washingtonians’ voices are heard and justice is for all, not the privileged few.
Thank you for being the foundation of this campaign.
— Nick
