National Democratic Training TLDR – March 26, 2026

Posted on March 26, 2026

Hit ‘Em Where It Hurts

From the desk of Bibek, Senior Digital Strategist

While the GOP was busy placating Trump’s tantrums, Democrats were busy hitting them where it hurts, snatching seats right out of their own backyard.

Two Democrats pulled off huge flips this week: one Mar-a-Lago area seat and another in deep-red Florida, both NDTC learners. Emily Gregory and Brian Nathan won on the ground, in tough terrain, and proved that the model — step up, train, run, contest — works exactly where it matters most. In districts that are seemingly “unwinnable.”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump was busy deploying ICE agents to airports, while travelers continue to suffer long lines and TSA continues to be unpaid. It’s empty theater, straight out of his WWE days. All this from a man who just quietly cast a mail-in ballot, despite calling it “mail-in cheating.” Do as I say, not as I do.

The sum total of Trump’s political experience before running for office.

And then there’s the war he started in Iran with no real plan.  Depending on the hour, he’s either won or it’s still wrapping up, while the rest of us are left with uncertainty, economic consequences, lives lost, and no real change with Iranian leadership.

The way we fight back is simple: win big, win visibly, win where they think they’re safely unopposed. We just did it, and we’re not stopping. If you want to do what Emily and Brian did, sign up for our Running in a Red District live training.

NDTC Learner Spotlight 🔦

NDTC Learner Brian Nathan is an IBEW member who has worked across Florida, from military bases in the Panhandle to power stations close to home. He just flipped SD-14, a seat formerly held by Lt. Governor Jay Collins, and proved once again that Democrats can run and win anywhere in this state.

The meeting will cover key issues, including passage of a new state income tax, capital budget investments, the lawmakers’ opposition to the state’s proposal to site a home for sexually violent predators in Kennewick, and legislation that passed or failed during the 60-day session.

Constituents are encouraged to attend, ask questions and share their perspectives on issues affecting their families and communities.

“We’re looking forward to meeting with constituents, answering questions about the 2026 session, hearing directly about the concerns they want addressed, and discussing how decisions made by the Legislature will affect our district now and in the future,” the lawmakers said.
