Freedom, The Fourth, and Fighting Back
“I love America more than any other country in the world and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually.”
― James Baldwin
Independence day is almost here, and if you’re not feeling the spirit of freedom this year, you’re not alone – or powerless. Remember that it’s patriotic to protest, to push for change, and to run for office.
If you’re fired up and ready to make your voice heard, but not sure where to start, we’ve got you. Check out our new 5-Minute Guide to Attending a Protest: a handy reminder of your Constitutional right to protest, how to stay safe, and how to show up with purpose. You don’t need to be a pro to get loud. Just be ready.
Democracy isn’t a spectator sport, so don’t stay on the sidelines. If you’re ready to get in the ring, our “So You Want To Run For Office?” live training is a great place to start.
Our Learners Are Making a Huge Impact!
NDTC learner and Honolulu Council Member Radiant Codero is showing her support for local first responders. We love to see the NDTC community demonstrating gratitude for local leaders and first responders that keep communities safe and thriving.

In a betrayal to all American working families, Vice President Vance cast the deciding vote in the Senate to cut Medicaid, take away food assistance, blow up the deficit, and add tax breaks for the wealthiest. He called the consequences of his vote – which will rip away healthcare for over 17 million people – “immaterial”.

Why this story is important:

This is where MAGA is sending American tax dollars.

Why this story is important:
