One year into Trump’s second administration, it’s hard to imagine that one day he won’t dominate our lives. Right now, the headlines are constant. The chaos is familiar. Republicans want that noise to convince us this is permanent. But it’s not. If (and only if) we keep fighting, we will build a political future that extends beyond Trump, not one that stays defined by his legacy.

While Washington consumes attention, Democrats are quietly winning elections that actually matter. In 2025, we flipped seats, made real gains in red districts, and began breaking Republican supermajorities. Many of these races restored checks, balances, and basic governance in state legislatures and local communities. We can do it again in 2026.
