Running this year has a secret advantage

New year, new campaign. And yes, I know, we just did this. But hear me out.
We’re now in the Year of the Fire Horse, a once-in-60-years event defined by radical change and political upheaval. As a metal Goat, I’m wired to be a dreamer and an optimist, so naturally, I’m choosing to see this as a sign. And it’s not lost on me that it’s landing on a midterm year.
But here’s the thing about upheaval: it cuts both ways. The SAVE Act — still far from a 60-vote majority in the Senate, yet also an uncomfortable step closer to becoming law — won’t be the last assault on our democracy. The GOP isn’t stopping. So we do what LeMario Brown did this week in the Georgia State Senate special election. He took the fight straight into a safe red seat. He didn’t win, but his campaign brought us that much closer to closing the gap. That is how we build toward wins all the way down the ballot, in every district, every cycle, every year.
It’s all hands on deck. The Fire Horse doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. Neither should you.
