One Big Thing To Know…

A big silver lining on Election Day was North Carolina Democrats breaking the GOP supermajority in the state house. NDTC learners won 10 races for the North Carolina State House!

However, this week the North Carolina General Assembly’s GOP supermajority just approved a corrupt power grab, seizing authority from Governor Roy Cooper and Governor-elect Josh Stein, and the courts to prevent any meaningful check on legislative abuses. The Republicans in the General Assembly are using the last days of their supermajority to concentrate power in the hands of a few and gut the offices of incoming Democrats.

This is a blatant Republican power grab. When they couldn’t win, they decided to steal on the lame duck way out.
