It’s going to be Trump. Republican leaders and former Trump rivals and critics are falling in line. While many more states still need to vote, and Nikki Haley will continue to battle it out, Trump’s early victories in Iowa and New Hampshire are all pointing to Trump being the Republican nominee. But we can’t afford to wait and see. It’s imperative we get to work now to defeat him in November.
That’s why, this year, MoveOn is launching its election program earlier than ever before, starting with a special Election Kickoff Livestream on Sunday, January 28, to plug members into MoveOn’s ambitious plan to win big this November. If you’re watching the news and you’re aghast that Trump is marching toward the GOP nomination, here’s your chance to do something about it! You can start taking meaningful action now through Election Day.
Join the one-hour livestream with the MoveOn team and national progressive leaders, including Representative Pramila Jayapal, to cover the electoral landscape, which voters are likely to tip this election, and how MoveOn members can reach, persuade, and turn them out to vote. You’ll have the chance to become a MoveOn Vote Mobilizer or sign up for other active roles that will give you high-impact opportunities throughout 2024.

For nearly a year MoveOn members have come together to demand Trump is kept off the ballot in every state across the country. The 14th Amendment is clear that anyone who engages in an insurrection is barred from holding office again. And Trump more than engaged—he led the plot leading up to January 6 to maintain power even though he knew he lost the 2020 election.
Soon, the right wing Supreme Court will weigh in on whether they’ll overturn the Colorado ruling that he’s ineligible to run, continuing their ideological war on democracy and their entangled support of Trump. But whether Trump remains on the ballot (against constitutionality and good sense!) or is replaced by a look-alike whom not even Republicans support, we’re going to have to rally together to defeat MAGA politicians at the ballot box this November to begin to strengthen our democracy.
In the end, we are the ones who will defeat Trump and the MAGA Republicans—and to do so at the ballot box in November, we need to build the electoral operation now. MoveOn’s plan runs through the most critical states and districts where there are plenty of MoveOn members who can take action and plenty of key voters we can reach—and the livestream will lay out the plan for how to do it and invite everyone to get involved. And the time to get started is now!
