These numbers are stark: Seven in 10 Americans don’t know about Project 2025. But, when they learn about it, most people are opposed—even Republicans who don’t identify as MAGA.1
That’s a huge opportunity—no, a mandate—for us to educate voters about Project 2025. And it’s precisely why Donald Trump is now desperate to distance himself from it.
Last week, videos were released showing Trump embracing Project 2025 from the start. At a Heritage Foundation dinner in 2022, Trump said: “Our country is going to hell …. This is a great group and they’re going to lay the groundwork and detail plans for exactly what our movement will do … when the American people give us a colossal mandate to save America. And that’s coming.”2
In a second video, Project 2025 director Paul Dans states very clearly that Trump is “very bought in with this.”3
J.D. Vance, his vice presidential pick, has been more forthright recently, praising Project 2025 as full of “good ideas.”4
We cannot let Project 2025 ever see the light of day. Our remaining rights and freedoms and democracy depend on it.

Just reading Project 2025’s goals causes voters to reject Project 2025—even the “double haters” who don’t like Trump or President Biden opposed the extremist plan by 78%.5
These are the incredible numbers of voters in the poll—from Republican women to Independents to Democrats who didn’t plan to vote—who, once they learned about them, believe that these Project 2025 policies would be harmful to America.6
- 83% opposed removing health care protections for people with preexisting conditions.
- 80% opposed cutting Social Security benefits by raising the retirement age.
- 85% opposed allowing the government to monitor people’s pregnancies to potentially prosecute them if they miscarry.
- 87% opposed allowing employers to stop paying hourly workers overtime.
It’s clear: Once voters know what’s actually in Project 2025, they hate it—and they understand that Trump and his MAGA cronies are behind it.7
MoveOn’s superpower is our breadth and huge megaphone. We’re currently running a massive election campaign that has us engaging voters in every corner of the country: in person, online, on their phones, and with messengers they trust—from micro-influencers on social media platforms to MoveOn members in their own community to their very own friends, family, and colleagues whom we’re organizing through our “vote tripling” program.
But this outreach to individual voters is time and resource intensive, and we can do it only with your urgent and ongoing support.
