For years, billionaires have bankrolled strongmen and other politicians who’ve tried to undermine our elections.
And the scary part is, their tactics are working. A new poll says 51% of respondents either “don’t know” or “disagree” that the upcoming midterms will be free and fair.1
And those are dangerous numbers, because people who don’t trust the election don’t vote.2
That’s why it is so critical that on the October 17 No Kings: Vote Early nationwide day of action, we fight back. Its the day when millions of us can meet this extraordinarily high-stakes moment. Voting is contagious, and we take our cues from the people around us. We need all of those skeptics to see people they know and trust preparing to cast their ballots—and having confidence in our elections—so they do, too.
No Kings: Vote Early is gearing up to turn people power into voter power, and MoveOn is essential to making it happen.
MoveOn is one of the central organizations coordinating No Kings, and our team is the one working directly with the volunteer hosts who will make October 17 a reality in communities across the country.
We’re hosting trainings, holding office hours, having one-on-one support calls, and more, all to make No Kings a success and to keep every event safe. Without the support we provide, volunteers on the ground simply can’t organize it all on their own. Events won’t be as strong, and they won’t reach as many people.
Every $6.40 you donate supports 1,000 text messages to MoveOn members, making sure they’ll join us on October 17. That means $32 reaches 5,000 people; $64 reaches 10,000!
MoveOn’s team is working one-on-one with volunteer hosts across the country. We get them set up, train them, safety-plan with them, and make sure every event has what it needs to succeed. It’s unglamorous work. It’s also the difference between an idea and a movement.
