You may have seen the recent polls about just how tight the presidential election race is, not only on the national level but, more alarmingly, in nearly every key swing state, including Michigan and Pennsylvania.1
Now, with just 19 days left to go until Election Day, it’s becoming crystal clear that this election will be decided by just a handful of voters living in battleground states. That’s why MoveOn has been working overtime to make sure that we leave it all on the field to ensure that only tears of joy will be shed on Inauguration Day. Since launching our election program this spring, MoveOn members have made more than 500,000 calls and sent more than 70,000 postcards to voters to turn out the vote for Vice President Harris and Democrats all the way down the ticket.
And with just weeks to go, we’re ramping up our efforts: making millions (yes, millions) more phone calls, flooding the digital airwaves with compelling ads and content, and meeting voters in their communities with our Scoop the Vote ice cream truck and through community events. But there’s one even more highly effective and FREE way to reach these voters, and it’s an action that will take you just 30 seconds. Seriously. It’s called “vote tripling,” and it’s ridiculously simple to do.
Here’s how it works: If you text 3-5 of your friends or loved ones to say, “I voted, can you do the same?,” it’s a text they’ll likely pay attention to because it’s personal and from someone known and trusted, like you. Super easy yet highly effective! And to defeat Trump and his Project 2025 agenda resoundingly at the ballot box, it’s going to take all of us encouraging those who likely need a gentle nudge to vote. This election truly is about two futures. One where our freedoms are protected under a Walz-Harris administration, or one in which they are taken away and marginalized communities are living in constant fear and under frequent attacks by a Trump administration.
And the reality is that this election will be decided by a razor-thin margin. So every vote (and text!) truly can and will make a difference.
