There are just over 60 days until Donald Trump takes office. The threat he poses to our democracy and country is no longer potential, it’s nearly here.
In the two months before Trump is inaugurated, we need President Joe Biden to do everything in his power to protect our freedoms and defend our democracy with the full force of the executive office.
In his first term, President Biden passed landmark legislation for climate, signed executive orders to protect reproductive health care, took on Big Pharma to lower the cost of health care, signed the first significant gun safety law in 30 years, relieved student loan debt for millions, and strengthened protections for LGBTQ+ people. All that progress could be undone by Trump’s administration unless we take action to secure it. President Biden must cement the legacy of the past four years, and work to protect our very democracy against the harm Trump poses.
Trump and MAGA Republicans want us to give up. But we’re going to resist attempts to undermine our freedom every step of the way, starting now. More than 50,000 MoveOn members have already signed the petition, pointing to the urgency of this moment.
