Dear MoveOn member,
Do you want to wake up the day after Election Day feeling like you could’ve done more? I sure don’t.
As MoveOn’s chief of program, it is my job to make sure that we come up with the most effective election program possible.
And I can tell you this: I have never been more confident and excited about an election plan than I am about this one. If we can run it at the size and scale we have proposed, I know we will win this election.
But right now we’re short, and we’re looking at potentially cutting how many voters we can reach out to, persuade that their vote matters, and turn out to vote.
Here’s a snapshot of MoveOn’s research-based and data-driven election plan:
- A very specific and critical set of voters. This year, we have a laser-like focus on a particular set of voters. We’re talking about 1.5 million young voters and voters who did not vote in 2016 or 2022 across seven battleground states. Studies show that if we can get them out to vote, we will win. And that will mean game over for Trump.
- We’re going to talk to each voter THREE times–with postcards, phone calls, texts, and/or in person! This kind of repeat touch point for voters has long been proven as the most effective strategy for guaranteeing voters turn out.
- Real people talking to real people is the heart of our program. We are running a MoveOn member-driven persuasion program to reach these voters. MoveOn members will reach out to these voters one-on-one and persuade them to vote by talking about issues that matter to them. Research shows this is the best way to convince skeptical voters to show up to the polls.
- Cutting-edge technology and targeting. We’ve invested in and improved upon the sophisticated technology and targeting techniques that carried us to victory in 2018, 2020, and 2022.
Trump and his henchmen have billionaire bigwigs and Wall Street CEOs in their back pocket. But we have something better: All of us working together.
