WE DID IT! Yesterday was the largest single day of protest in modern U.S. history.
Across more than 3,300 protests, marches, and demonstrations in all 50 states and abroad, at least 8 million of us gathered to say: America is a democracy, not a dictatorship. This country does not belong to kings.
Trump’s authoritarian regime wants us isolated, afraid, and silent. Instead, in the face of tyranny, 8 million of us definitely and courageously took to the streets—loudly, nonviolently, powerfully, and joyfully.
And while yesterday’s record-breaking protest was important, what happens next is even more important.
Because tyranny won’t be dismantled in a single day. It’s going to take sustained and relentless grassroots resistance over time.

The “3.5% rule” from historical research tells us that no authoritarian government has survived when 3.5% of the population mobilizes nonviolently in a sustained way.1 For the U.S., that’s roughly 11 million people.
Here is our trajectory.
April 2025: 3 million people at 1,300 Hands Off! events.
June 2025: 5 million people at 2,100 No Kings events.
October 2025: 7 million people at 2,700 No Kings events.
March 2026: 8 million people at 3,300 No Kings events.
Our movement isn’t just growing, it’s surging. It’s historic. It’s record-breaking.
Millions of people are joining our movement—including so many yesterday. Now, it’s up to us to absorb these new activists, train them, and ensure they remain committed and engaged in the fight in a sustained way.
