Move On – June 6, 2024

Posted on June 6, 2024

Dear MoveOn member,

We have an urgent request that needs your immediate attention.

On October 4—just about a month out from the presidential election—the Georgia Court of Appeals is tentatively set to hear arguments in Donald Trump’s appeal to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from overseeing his case.1

If this date sticks, it is almost certain that any ruling, and the trial, will be delayed until after the election.

This appeal is yet another attempt by Trump to delay justice and avoid accountability for his actions to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia, and we need to do everything we can to pressure the court to schedule the oral arguments for as soon as possible!

Trump and his allies are using every trick in the book to postpone his trials indefinitely, hoping that he can win the election, pardon himself, and permanently avoid accountability.

Trump has been convicted of 34 felony counts in New York. And that’s from just one of FOUR criminal trials. Which means that after Trump’s guilty verdict, there are still THREE ongoing criminal trials to resolve!

  • In Washington, D.C., Trump has been charged with attempting to overturn the 2020 election. But the MAGA loyalist-packed Supreme Court is intentionally stalling a decision on Trump’s bogus claim that he is immune from prosecution in order to prevent the trial from taking place before the election.2
  • In Florida, Trump is charged with stealing and mishandling highly classified national security documents. But Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon—who has been repeatedly criticized by legal scholars for making rulings in the case that flout the law—has “indefinitely postponed” the trial, another effort to prevent Trump from racking up more convictions before Election Day.3
  • And in Georgia, Trump faces RICO charges for his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state.

We cannot allow this pattern of delay and obstruction to continue. If we can raise the funds, we’re planning to run a full-page ad in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution to dramatically increase the pressure on the appeals court in the state to allow the trial to go forward. And we will be delivering more than 25,000 signatures of MoveOn members to the Georgia Court of Appeals.

We need your help to raise $50,000 to make this ad happen. Are you in?

Trump’s strategy is clear: delay his trials for as long as possible, keep critical information from voters, and then claim immunity or pardon himself if he wins the next election.

The public deserves to know the truth about Trump’s actions before the 2024 election. But, unfortunately, Trump’s strategy has been effective so far, with three of four trials postponed indefinitely.

What slowed down the trial in Georgia is that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been unfairly targeted in an attempt to disqualify her from prosecuting Trump. Despite the baseless allegations and personal attacks, Willis has shown unwavering commitment to holding Trump accountable.

We must support her and demand that the courts allow her to continue her work without further delays.

Please chip in to demand an end to the delays. Your donation will help us run this crucial ad and expand our campaign demanding a speedy trial, justice, and accountability for Trump.

Your donation will help us:

  1. Run a full-page ad in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: If we can raise enough funds, our ad will call on judges overseeing Trump’s cases to uphold the American people’s constitutional right to a speedy trial and stop the delays.
  2. Deliver our petition to the Georgia Court of Appeals: We will deliver our petition to the court with more than 25,000 signatures, amplifying the voices of thousands of Americans who demand justice and accountability.
  3. Demand that judges stop kicking the can down the road: By raising awareness through this ad, we can put pressure on the judicial system to treat Trump’s cases with the urgency they deserve.

We have seen the power of public pressure before. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that justice is served. But we can’t do it without your support.

Will you donate to help us run this full-page ad and deliver our petition demanding a speedy trial for Trump?

Let’s show the courts and the nation that the American people will not stand for delay tactics and obstruction of justice.

Thanks for all you do.

–Mohammad, Erica, Nadia, Kelsey, and the rest of the team

P.S. We need to raise $50,000 in the next week to make this campaign a reality. Please donate today to help us run our full-page ad and deliver our petition. Every dollar counts in this fight for justice.

Want to support MoveOn’s work? Voters just defied history and stopped a MAGA wave of extremism at the polls. But there is more work to do to end the filibuster, codify abortion rights into law, and defend our freedoms, our families, and our futures. We can accomplish all this and more, but only if we work together.

Will you chip in monthly to power our critical work?

Yes, I’ll chip in $5 a month.

No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, support for public health policies has gradually declined. At the federal level certain policies and practices regarding vaccines have been thrown into question.

Vaccine proponents note the long-time and widespread benefits of the traditional MMR vaccine; vaccine skeptics generally insist it causes autism. Some say the approval process (Operation Warp Speed for Covid-19) was either rushed or rigged; others say the process was instrumental in reducing suffering and saved the lives of millions of people.

    Whistle Workshop & Learning Event

    December 12, 2025  10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Richland Public Library, Conf Room B, 955 Northgate Dr, Richland, WA

📣Our Voices United is sharing whistle safety packs as a simple, but powerful, grassroots tool that helps communities stay alert and protect each other. Indivisible Tri-Cities is joining in to help promote this campaign and support local outreach.

🧊These whistles create instant signals when ICE activity is nearby, helping neighbors gather quickly, record what's happening, and stand with anyone who may be approached. Join us this Friday to learn more!

🎶Different whistle patterns can signal urgent moments, like ICE being in the area or someone being detained. This gives those nearby a way to respond that's faster than social media and doesn't rely on being on your phone all the time.

🛡️Though it's a small tool, it helps combat quiet threats by creating visible community action, solidarity, and support. When we come together in efforts like this, our collective strength grows.
