Dear fellow MoveOn member,
Last year, for the first time in history, social media overtook television and online news as the most common way Americans get their news.1
This isn’t a trend. It’s a transformation. And it changes everything about how we wrest control of our country from MAGA and build a future where everyone can thrive.
Millions of the voters who will decide this year’s midterm elections—people who are fed up, stretched thin, and ready to hold someone accountable—aren’t watching the nightly news. They’re not reading the newspaper.
Instead, they’re watching creators they trust on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. They’re in online communities and feeds that the traditional political machine has never learned to reach.
While MAGA spent years embedding itself in the feeds, online communities, and trusted voices that reach everyday Americans, Democrats kept running TV ads and chasing newspaper headlines for an audience that had already moved on.
That’s the gap MoveOn is closing—and we’re going to show you exactly how. But we need your help to do it at the scale this moment demands.
Will you donate $75 right now to power MoveOn’s 2026 Creators Program?
Here’s what’s at stake: Last week, Donald Trump told reporters, “You know what I really love? I love the inflation.” Headlines ran everywhere—ABC News, USA Today, The New York Times, TIME.2,3,4,5
It was the kind of moment that, in another era, would have been the political end for Republicans.
But that era is over. Millions of people who need to hear about Trump’s contempt for the rest of us—people who are skipping groceries, skipping doctor visits, skipping gas—won’t. Not because they don’t care or aren’t engaged. Because they don’t consume traditional media.
That’s exactly why MoveOn built the Creators Program.
Launched in the aftermath of the 2024 election, when it became painfully obvious that Democrats had failed to authentically connect with voters, MoveOn has focused like a laser on building our capacity to reach voters where they now are. And we’ve made enormous progress.
MoveOn is now one of just 17 advocacy groups ranked in the top 500 social media accounts covering politics and policy—just 3% of all accounts.6 Our YouTube channel is now the largest among progressive organizations. We drove 2.8 million engagements in the first four months of this year alone.
And here’s what sets us apart:
We’re going where the issues already are. The foodie creator is living the reality of spiking grocery prices. The gaming streamer is watching their equipment costs explode. The elementary school teacher doing “day-in-the-life” videos is being directly impacted by ICE raids. Creators who’ve never spoken up about politics are speaking up now—and we’re partnering with them to help their followers connect the dots.
We’re going local. We’re partnering with creators based in the key electoral districts that will determine who controls Congress—working side by side with MoveOn volunteers on the ground, turning online engagement into real-world action right where it counts.
We’re building something lasting. We’re giving creators the tools to connect, build community, and develop long-term political power. This isn’t a parachute operation. We’re activating creators as organizers—and building infrastructure that outlasts any single election.
Over the next 4.5 months, MoveOn is making a $27 million investment to reach voters where they actually are. Your donation today directly powers that work.
The moment is here. Let’s use it.
Thanks for all you do.
